Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about Campaigns, Organisations, payments, and everything in between.

Getting Started

GoFundzy is a fundraising platform for community groups, sports teams, non-profits, and solo fundraisers. There are two ways to fundraise here: Campaigns, where participants each get their own page and a leaderboard, and supporters choose an amount to give; and Organisations, where schools, sports clubs, non-profits and community groups accept ongoing support directly, without a leaderboard or closing date.

A Campaign has one or more participants, a start and end date, and a leaderboard — think school fundraisers, sports teams, or solo fundraisers where people are supporting someone specific. An Organisation is evergreen: there is no participant to support individually and no closing date, just ongoing support for the group itself.

No. Supporters can donate without creating an account — just enter your name and email at checkout so we can send your receipt.

Yes. All payments are processed directly by Stripe, one of the world's most widely used payment processors. Your card details are entered directly into Stripe's secure payment form and never touch our servers.

Campaigns

Open the participant's page, choose an amount (or enter your own), enter your details, and complete payment. Your donation is added to their total immediately and the leaderboard updates live.

Register for a free organiser account, then start a new campaign from your dashboard. A short wizard walks you through your organisation details, who receives the funds, and your campaign's story, goal and duration.

Not quite — every new campaign is checked by our moderation team first, usually within one business day, to keep the platform safe and trustworthy for supporters. You'll get an email the moment it's approved and live.

Yes. Things like your page title, dates, and donation amounts update immediately. Changes to your story, images, or contact and beneficiary details are reviewed again first — your page keeps showing its current approved content in the meantime, and you'll get an email once the update goes live.

Each participant has their own page and their own running fundraising total. Supporters choose an amount and pay via Stripe. There's no limit on how many times a supporter can give.

The campaign closes to new donations at the date and time the organiser set. The final leaderboard stays visible on the campaign page.

Yes — organisers set their own suggested amounts (e.g. "$10, $25, $50") from their dashboard.

Funds are paid out to the beneficiary bank account details you provide when setting up your campaign. Payouts are recorded and tracked in your organiser Statement page.

Organisations

Schools, sports clubs, non-profits, and community groups that want ongoing support rather than a time-limited campaign. There are no individual participants and no leaderboard — support goes to the group as a whole.

Submit a request through our "Add Your Organisation" form. Our team reviews it and sets up your page — story, photos, contact details, and suggested donation amounts — and you'll be notified once it's live.

Just like a campaign, you pick an amount (or enter your own), pay via Stripe, and your donation is added to the organisation's running total. There's no leaderboard since there's no one competing.

Every organisation always has at least a standard set of suggested amounts available, based on its country, so supporters can donate from day one. Once an organisation sets up its own amounts, those take over.

No — organisations are evergreen. There's no closing date, and support can come in continuously.

Optionally, yes. If a fundraising goal is set for the organisation, its page shows a progress bar toward that amount. If no goal is set, the page simply shows a running total raised.

Payments & Fees

A service fee may apply to donations and is shown clearly at checkout before you pay — it never shows up as a surprise afterwards. A separate platform fee may be deducted from funds raised before payout to the organiser or organisation, as disclosed in their settings.

Whatever currency the campaign or organisation has set — shown clearly at checkout and confirmed again before you pay.

Donations are generally final, except in cases of error, fraud, or where required by consumer law. Contact us if something has gone wrong with your payment and we'll take a look.

Yes — a receipt is emailed automatically the moment your payment is confirmed, showing the amount charged.

Yes. At checkout you can choose to have your support shown as "Anonymous" in any public donation history, while we still keep your name and email privately for your receipt.

For Organisers

Yes, creating an organiser account and setting up a campaign is free — any service fee is only ever applied to donations made by supporters, not charged to you upfront.

Yes, if you'd prefer funds to go directly into your own Stripe account rather than being paid out by us. This can be set up from your organiser settings.

Your organiser dashboard has a Statement page showing everything raised, fees deducted, amounts already paid out, and what's still owed — for every campaign you run.

Yes — both campaigns and organisations support posting updates, with the option to email everyone who has previously supported you when you post one.

You'll get an email explaining exactly why, so you can make the change and resubmit. Nothing about your account is penalised — it's simply about making sure the page is ready for supporters before it goes live.

Support

Send us a message through our Contact page with as much detail as you can (your name, email used at checkout, and what happened) and we'll get back to you.

Every campaign page has a "Report this campaign" link. Reports go straight to our moderation team for review, and are never shown publicly.
